The Technique
The technique to make these stunning chandeliers and fixtures is called glass-blowing. To start off, a glass-blower gathers some molten glass at the end of his blowpipe, and then shapes the arm as he wants, using specific moulds to guide the process. A channel is made down the middle for the electrical wire.
Next, two glass workers shape and twist the molten glass into its shape; an extremely delicate and difficult process in which they must stretch the glass exactly right. After it’s done, they snip the excess on both ends, blowing cold air to speed up the solidification of the glass.

Then, using traditional techniques to place the molten glass into a mould, the craftsmen prepare the piece to be placed into a press where someone may more easily work on the end design elements by using pliers to lengthen one end into the desired shape – another laborious and delicate process.
Every single part of the fixture is hand-made and manually assembled. The main portions of glass with incorporated ornaments bring it all together, casting the bright sparkling light of a magnificent chandelier that is easily worthy of being every room’s centerpiece – all created in a dazzling mixture of art and science.
